The Babson College Class of 2001 was looking to
build a class website that was a lot out of the ordinary. They required a
site that could entertain, inform, and provide a sense community.
The site was built for and hosted on a MS IIS 5 server,
using HTML and ASP (active server page technology) as well as VBScript and
JavaScript. All database driven features are powered by a small MS Access
database utilizing SQL scripts.
Some of the features built directly into the
site include:
- Online threaded discussion boards;
- Searchable database of students;
- Username / Password protected extranet;
- Online Resumes;
- Dynamic news feeds built on static HTML and
active server pages;
- Online postcard system with music;
- Online registration with email confirmation
and password lookup functionality;
- "Email this page to a friend"
capability;
- Email-based newsletters;
- Database driven events calendar with online
submissions, email verification, and code-driven confirmation / activation;
and
- Online photo albums.
In addition, LoudOffice.com was responsible for
creating the graphical interface for the site including custom, animated logo
and navigation system.
